Finished my first tri!!! Hooray!!! in 2:07:54.
Harlem Valley Rail Ride - July 29 - did the 30 mile ride. Sore for a week!
Nutmeg State Sprint Triathlon, Lake Waramaug (.5/9/3.1) DONE in 2:07:22
Harvest Heart 10K in Salisbury, CT, 10/7/07, Done in 1:20. (12:58/mile avg)

The second day - otherwise you lose your momentum. Not the same thing as the killer workout though - good thing you're a multisport athlete now, eh? Enjoy your swim :)
Ditto...also, have you tried Endurox? It's an after-activity drink mix by the peeps that brought you Accelerade. It keeps the sore at bay.
I'm aching just after a couple of days of messing about in the sea! hate to think what I'd be like after a gruelling bike ride. No expert but I guess it's got to be best to gently keep your muscles working.

staying still definately doesn't help, i've learned that the hard way. when i'm really hurting, I try something simple, like a long walk. but the key seems to be to keep moving
also, not to sound like a commercial, but I've recently tried accelerade and I'm feeling WAY better the day after a hard workout now.
